REGISTERED NURSE - PSYCHIATRY

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our psychiatric residential care team. The candidate will be responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and patient-centred nursing care to residents with psychiatric and behavioural health needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and continuous monitoring of psychiatric residents.
• Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medication records.
• Monitor vital signs, mental status, behaviour, sleep, appetite, and other changes in patient condition.
• Identify and promptly report any deterioration, behavioural changes, or clinical concerns to the treating team.
• Assist psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals during assessments and treatment.
• Maintain accurate nursing notes, patient records, and shift handover documentation.
• Ensure proper implementation of individual care and treatment plans.
• Support patients during episodes of agitation, anxiety, withdrawal, or behavioural disturbances as per clinical protocols.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for residents.
• Follow infection-control, medication-safety, emergency, and psychiatric nursing protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients, bystanders, and the multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Participate in team meetings, clinical reviews, and patient-care discussions.
• Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, grooming, and discipline at all times.

Qualifications \& Requirements

• B.Sc Nursing / GNM
• Valid Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council (KNMC) registration – Mandatory
• Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred
• Strong interest and willingness to work in a psychiatric care setting
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Malayalam proficiency preferred/required for patient communication
• Willingness to work shifts, including night duty, as required
