Mechanical Fitter

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, assembling, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble, install, and dismantle mechanical equipment and machinery.

Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on mechanical systems.

Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications.

Align shafts, bearings, couplings, pumps, motors, and other mechanical components.

Identify mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs.

Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment safely.

Carry out fabrication, fitting, cutting, drilling, grinding, and basic machining work when required.

Inspect equipment and components for wear, damage, and proper operation.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment issues to supervisors.

Follow company safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping in the work area.

Requirements

ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Fitting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related trade.

1–3 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role.

Good knowledge of mechanical tools, equipment, and maintenance practices.

Ability to read mechanical drawings.

Knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, bearings, valves, couplings, and rotating equipment is an advantage.

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Willingness to work shifts or overtime when required.
