Sales Coordinator _ Automobile Industry ( Sector- 66, Badshahpur)
Role objective
To actively engage customers, progress sales opportunities toward orders, and ensure that no enquiry, quotation, trial, meeting action or active deal remains unattended. The role owns customer follow-up and internal coordination from opportunity creation through PO receipt.
Role Purpose
This is not a passive back-office or data-entry role. The Sales Coordination Specialist is expected to speak with customers, understand the current status of each opportunity, identify what is preventing the next step, coordinate internally for the required input, and remain the owner of the open customer action until it is closed.
The person should progressively develop enough understanding of JMXworks' technical products and applications to conduct effective first-level customer conversations and recognize when a technical specialist needs to be involved.
Opportunity Ownership – Scope
- Work on new enquiries, active opportunities, submitted quotations, meetings, trials/POCs and pre-order projects.
- Follow quotations with customers and obtain specific technical/commercial feedback rather than generic status updates.
- Identify the reason for delay, pending approval, competitor position, budget/timeline and expected decision/PO date.
- Drive the next required customer action: technical discussion, data, meeting, trial, revised offer, negotiation or internal approval.
- Arrange customer meetings/calls for the relevant JMXworks team member and ensure MOM/action points are followed to closure.
- Coordinate technical clarifications with Pankaj/Gourav/technical resources and commercial/supply information with the appropriate internal owner.
- Remain responsible for the customer-facing action even after requesting input internally; forwarding an email does not close the responsibility.
- Support routine commercial discussions while escalating pricing exceptions, discounts, non-standard payment terms, guarantees and unconfirmed delivery commitments to authorized persons.
- Progress the opportunity until PO receipt. Post-PO project execution is primarily owned by Gourav/project team, with sales support involved where customer/commercial intervention is required.
Customer Development & Lead Generation
- Systematically work through JMXworks' existing list of target companies, plants and responsible contacts.
- Reconnect with dormant/inactive customers and identify new requirements.
- Identify additional departments, plants and decision-makers within existing customer organizations.
- Prospect new target companies and relevant contacts through approved sources.
- Make introductory calls/emails and qualify whether a genuine opportunity exists.
- Follow leads generated through website enquiries, exhibitions/events, campaigns, referrals and management/team introductions.
- Create qualified leads/deals in Zoho CRM and ensure clear ownership and next action.
Meaningful Customer Interaction – Daily Standard
Target: 15–20 meaningful customer interactions per working day. A dialled call or generic email alone does not count as a meaningful interaction.
A meaningful interaction should produce one or more of the following
- New requirement or opportunity information.
- Customer feedback on a quotation/proposal.
- Technical/application information required to progress the deal.
- Confirmed meeting, trial, discussion or decision-maker contact.
- Clear reason for delay or lost/stalled opportunity.
- Customer commitment or target date for the next action/decision.
- Expected PO/decision date or approval status.
- Identified competitor/commercial concern where the customer is willing to share it.
- New plant/department/contact or cross-selling opportunity.
Mandatory Outcome-Based Follow-up Rule
Every follow-up must define what needs to happen for the action to be considered complete. Avoid vague actions such as 'follow up', 'check status', 'discuss' or 'update'.
