Job Description

Responsible for manufacturing, fitting, assembling, and finishing wind tunnel test models and related components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The role involves precision fitting, machining, assembly, inspection, and ensuring the model meets required dimensional and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacture and assemble wind tunnel models and components.

Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and specifications.

Perform precision fitting, drilling, cutting, filing, and finishing work.

Assemble parts using appropriate tools and equipment.

Check dimensions and alignment using measuring instruments.

Identify and correct fitting or assembly defects.

Maintain accuracy and quality during the manufacturing process.

Coordinate with design, engineering, and production teams.

Follow workplace safety and quality procedures.

Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working area.

Required Skills

Knowledge of fitting and assembly techniques.

Ability to read engineering drawings.

Knowledge of hand tools and basic workshop equipment.

Ability to use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers and micrometers.

Good attention to detail and precision.

Basic knowledge of machining and fabrication is an advantage.

Ability to work as part of a technical/production team.

Craft/industrial experience in metalworking. Ability to read technical drawings, assembly specifications and manufacturing documents. Knowledge of steel, aluminium and plastics; filing, grinding, polishing, drilling, sawing and deburring. Component fitting, assembly, measurement and self-inspection. Safe use of hand and power tools. Experience with conventional milling, turning or grinding machines is desirable.
