Fiber Network Engineer
Key Responsibilities 1. FTTH Installation & CommissioningInstall and commission FTTH connections for customers and societies. Perform fiber cable laying, routing, jointing, splicing, and termination . Install and configure ONT/ONU, OLT, fiber distribution boxes (FDB), FAT, FDT, splitter and related equipment . Perform customer-premises fiber installation and ONT activation. Verify optical power levels and ensure connectivity as per network standards. 2. Fiber Splicing & TestingPerform fiber splicing using Fusion Splicer . Conduct fiber testing using OTDR, Optical Power Meter and VFL . Identify fiber cuts, high-loss points, bending losses and poor-quality joints. Maintain proper splice-loss and optical-power records. Prepare and maintain fiber route and joint documentation. 3. FTTH TroubleshootingTroubleshoot LOS, PON, Internet connectivity and ONT/ONU issues . Diagnose fiber breaks, low optical power, connector problems and splitter issues. Troubleshoot customer complaints related to FTTH connectivity. Coordinate with NOC for OLT, VLAN, PPPoE and provisioning-related issues. Attend and resolve network faults within defined SLA.
