ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Maa Nest Caregiver, you will provide professional, responsible and compassionate care to families through the Maa Nest app.
Depending on your qualifications, training and experience, you may provide childcare for children aged 0–11 years or elder care for adults, particularly older adults and people recovering after illness or hospitalisation.
You will work in clients' homes and, for eligible Elder Care bookings, may also provide bedside support in hospitals.
You can choose your availability, preferred areas, services and the bookings you want to accept through the Maa Nest caregiver app.
Maa Nest is a flexible, booking-based platform. Caregivers are expected to work within their qualifications, experience, the services they are approved for and the scope of each booking.
CHILD CAREKey Responsibilities
Child Safety & Everyday Care
Provide attentive and responsible supervision of children.
Follow the family's routines for meals, naps, bedtime and daily activities.
Assist with feeding, hygiene, dressing and age-appropriate personal care as instructed by parents.
Maintain a safe environment for the child.
Learning & Development
Conduct age-appropriate play and learning activities.
Support reading, storytelling, art, music, puzzles and creative activities.
Support early literacy, numeracy and learning through play.
Assist school-age children with reading and homework where appropriate.
Encourage independence, communication and positive social behaviour.
Communication & Professionalism
Communicate clearly and respectfully with parents.
Share relevant updates about meals, sleep, activities, mood and routines.
Observe and report changes in behaviour or wellbeing without attempting to diagnose.
Maintain punctuality and professional boundaries.
Respect family privacy and confidentiality.
Follow Maa Nest safety policies and booking procedures.
ELDER CAREKey Responsibilities
Everyday Care & Dignity
Provide warm companionship and attentive supervision.
Support safe mobility, walking, transfers and wheelchair/walker use.
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and other personal care while maintaining dignity and privacy.
Assist with meals and drinking according to the family's instructions.
Provide medication reminders according to the family's written schedule.
Encourage appropriate activity, conversation, reading, music and familiar routines.
Recovery & Hospital Support
Support older adults recovering at home after hospital discharge.
Follow the family's shared discharge instructions and report concerns appropriately.
Provide bedside companionship and assistance with meals and mobility during eligible In-Hospital Care bookings.
Provide overnight supervision, safety checks, repositioning and toileting support where required.
Observation & Communication
Observe and communicate relevant changes in mood, appetite, sleep, mobility, pain or behaviour.
Where included in the approved booking, record vital signs using the family's devices.
Maintain accurate updates through the Maa Nest app.
Report safety or wellbeing concerns to the family and Maa Nest.
Escalate emergencies immediately according to Maa Nest safety procedures.

Maa Nest Elder Care is a non-medical care service.
Caregivers must not diagnose conditions, prescribe or change medication, or independently perform medical treatment.
