Salesman

The Salesman is responsible for delivering an excellent in-store customer experience while achieving sales targets. This role requires someone who can confidently handle customers across different product categories, understand their requirements, recommend products, create complete looks and maximise every sales opportunity.

The ideal candidate should have strong selling ability combined with fashion awareness, product knowledge and customer relationship skills.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome and engage customers professionally from the moment they enter the store.

Understand customer requirements, preferences, occasion, budget and style.

Recommend suitable products based on customer needs.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of Gavins' products, collections, sizes, fits, fabrics and pricing.

Assist customers across relevant men's, women's, kids' and occasion categories.

Provide styling and product suggestions where appropriate.

Build complete looks through cross-selling and up-selling.

Demonstrate products and assist customers with selection, trial and fitting.

Maintain strong product presentation on the sales floor.

Ensure merchandise is replenished and correctly displayed.

Monitor customer movement and proactively engage customers rather than waiting to be approached.

Handle objections professionally and work toward conversion.

Coordinate with alterations, billing, stock and other store teams to complete the customer journey smoothly.

Assist with customer orders, reservations, alterations, exchanges and post-sale requirements as applicable.

Maintain strong relationships with regular and high-value customers.

Support promotional activities, new launches and store events.

Keep the sales floor and displays organised throughout the day.

Meet individual and team sales targets.

Share customer feedback and product requests with management.

Required Skills & Capabilities

Strong customer-facing communication.

Product knowledge and willingness to learn fashion terminology.

Basic understanding of styling, colour coordination and fit.

Strong cross-selling and up-selling capability.

Ability to manage multiple customers during busy periods.

Mature handling of customer complaints and objections.

Preferred

Fashion retail / apparel / luxury / lifestyle retail experience.

Experience selling occasion wear, ethnic wear, western wear, menswear or womenswear.

Existing customer-handling or repeat-customer experience.

Fluency in English, Telugu and/or Hindi is advantageous.

Experience & Qualification

Experience

1–5 years in retail sales, fashion sales, apparel, lifestyle or customer-facing sales.

Strong performers with less experience may be considered.

Education

10+2 / Graduate.

Pay

₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
