STP Operator cum Plumber

To operate and maintain the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and carry out plumbing maintenance

works across the campus to ensure uninterrupted water supply, proper sewage treatment, and

efficient functioning of plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities

STP Operations

• Operate and monitor the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) as per standard operating

procedures.

• Check and record daily operational parameters of STP equipment.
• Monitor pumps, blowers, motors, valves, and treatment processes.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of STP equipment.
• Ensure treated water quality meets prescribed standards.
• Maintain logbooks and operational records.
• Report equipment failures and abnormalities to the supervisor.

Plumbing Maintenance

• Attend plumbing complaints and rectify them promptly.
• Repair and maintain water supply lines, drainage lines, valves, taps, flush systems, and

sanitary fixtures.

• Identify and repair water leakages across the campus.
• Install and replace plumbing fittings and accessories as required.
• Carry out preventive maintenance of plumbing systems.
• Ensure proper functioning of overhead tanks, underground tanks, pumps, and pipelines.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures while operating STP and carrying out plumbing work.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of the STP area and work locations.
• Comply with environmental and statutory regulations related to sewage treatment.

Qualifications

• ITI in Plumbing / Fitter / Relevant Trade.
• STP Operator certification is preferred.

Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in STP operation and plumbing maintenance.
• Experience in educational institutions, hospitals, or commercial facilities is preferred.

Skills Required

• Knowledge of STP processes and equipment.
• Plumbing installation and maintenance skills.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
• Ability to read maintenance logs and records.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
