Founding Android Engineer – Kotlin

InSeconds is building a new kind of social platform for founders, builders, and ambitious people. We are rethinking how people discover ideas, founders, businesses, opportunities, and the people behind them through short-form content.

We are at a very early stage building from the ground up with a small founding team.

Think about what it would have been like to join the early team at Facebook, Instagram, or any great consumer product before everything was figured out.

That's the stage we're at.

There is no massive engineering team, no perfectly defined roadmap, and no hundred-page documentation telling you what to do. There is a blank canvas, a big vision, and an opportunity to build something that can matter.

Build the Android Product

Build the InSeconds Android application from scratch using Kotlin.

Develop and ship core product experiences across the application.

Build reusable, scalable and high-quality Android components.

Translate product ideas and designs into intuitive mobile experiences.

Own the Architecture

Take ownership of the Android application's architecture and technical decisions.

Build a clean, scalable and maintainable codebase.

Work with modern Android development practices, including Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and modern architecture patterns.

Make thoughtful decisions around performance, state management and data handling.

APIs & Integrations

Integrate backend APIs and services.

Implement authentication, user profiles, content feeds, opportunities, connections, messaging and other core functionality.

Work closely with the backend team to build and integrate APIs.

Implement notifications, analytics and other native Android capabilities.

What We're Looking For

Strong experience with Kotlin and Android development.

Good understanding of Android fundamentals and application lifecycle.

Experience with Jetpack Compose.

Strong understanding of APIs and mobile-backend integration.

Experience with Kotlin Coroutines / Flow.

Understanding of application architecture such as MVVM / Clean Architecture.

Experience with Git/GitHub and modern development workflows.

Strong debugging and problem-solving ability.

Ability to work independently and make technical decisions.

Someone who has built and shipped an Android application.

Most importantly

We want a builder.
