Program Coordinator – Early Childhood Education (ECE Program)

Kalike–Tata Trusts is seeking a committed and dynamic professional to join our team as a Program Coordinator for an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program in Ri Bhoi and East Garo Hills. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about strengthening early learning and working closely with government education stakeholders, schools and teachers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure implementation of all planned activities as per the project timeline in the respective district.
  • Coordinate with the concerned District Education Department Officials, academic and training functionaries (BRPs/CRPs/MRPs) and other relevant officials for effective implementation of the ECE program.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government schools, school heads, pre-primary teachers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure timely execution of program activities.
  • Support and participate in teacher training, orientation and capacity-building activities related to ECE and early learning.
  • Undertake regular school visits to support teachers, observe implementation and provide on-site guidance and mentoring.
  • Facilitate school-level meetings and follow-ups with teachers and school stakeholders.
  • Participate in block and district-level review meetings, provide updates on progress, discuss challenges and support development of mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate regularly with the Program Officer for planning, implementation and progress updates.
  • Support monitoring and documentation of project activities, including tracking outputs and outcomes, preparing periodic reports, and developing case studies and photo/video documentation.
  • Undertake independent and joint field visits to schools to monitor implementation and provide necessary support.
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by the reporting officer.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Post-graduation in Education, Social Work, Development Studies, or any related field.
  • 2–3 years of work experience education programmes preferably with schools, teacher engagement, Early Childhood Education, primary education, FLN, or related development programmes.
  • Experience working with government schools, primary teachers and/or education department stakeholders will be preferred.
  • Fluency in Khasi, Garo and English is a must.
  • Strong coordination, communication, facilitation and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the district.
