Job Purpose

To supervise and control the injection moulding production process to achieve production targets, quality requirements, delivery schedules, productivity and safety standards while ensuring effective utilization of manpower, machines and materials.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction

Plan and execute daily injection moulding production as per the production plan.

Monitor machine-wise production and achieve daily/shift targets.

Ensure proper machine start-up, parameter setting and process control.

Monitor cycle time, output, rejection and machine utilization.

Ensure smooth production during shift operations.

Coordinate with Production Planning, Quality, Maintenance and Stores departments.

Manpower Management

Allocate operators and helpers according to machine and production requirements.

Monitor operator attendance, discipline and performance.

Ensure adequate manpower availability for each shift.

Train and guide operators on machine operation and work instructions.

Monitor operator skill and competency.

Machine & Process Control

Monitor injection moulding machine parameters such as

Temperature

Pressure

Injection speed

Holding pressure

Cooling time

Cycle time

Ensure machines are operated within approved process parameters.

Identify abnormalities in machine operation and coordinate with Maintenance.

Ensure proper mould mounting, removal and handling.

Quality Control

Ensure production is carried out as per approved Work Instructions, Control Plan and Quality Standards.

Monitor first-off and in-process inspection requirements.

Control rejection, rework and process-related defects.

Immediately report quality issues to the Quality Department.

Take corrective action for repeated process defects.

Ensure segregation and identification of OK, NG and rework parts.

Material Management

Ensure correct raw material and colour/masterbatch are used as per production requirements.

Coordinate with Stores for material availability.

Prevent material mixing and contamination.

Monitor material consumption and minimize material wastage.

Safety & 5S

Ensure operators follow PPE and safety requirements.

Maintain good housekeeping and 5S in the production area.

Ensure safe operation of machines and handling equipment.

Report unsafe conditions and accidents immediately.

Ensure proper disposal and segregation of plastic waste.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain daily production reports.

Record machine output, rejection, downtime and production losses.

Maintain shift handover records.

Monitor production vs. target.

Maintain mould change and machine parameter records.

Support preparation and maintenance of production-related documents required for IATF 16949.

Required Skills

Good knowledge of injection moulding machines and processes.

Knowledge of mould setting and mould changeover.

Knowledge of process parameters and troubleshooting.

Basic knowledge of quality tools and inspection methods.

Manpower handling and shift management skills.

Problem-solving and decision-making ability.

Basic computer and MS Excel knowledge.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Qualification & Experience

Qualification

Diploma / ITI / Engineering – Mechanical / Plastics / Production preferred.

Experience

3–5 years in Injection Moulding Production.

Automotive plastic component manufacturing experience is preferred.

Authority

Stop production when serious quality or safety issues are identified.

Allocate manpower within the production area.

Request Maintenance support for machine breakdowns.

Escalate repeated quality and process issues to the Production Manager / Plant Head.

Responsibility

The Injection Moulding Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and quality-focused production while achieving the required production target and minimizing rejection, downtime and material wastage.

Pay

₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
