Job Summary

The Plumber is responsible for installation, fitting, maintenance, and repair of water supply, drainage, and plumbing systems as per drawings and specifications. The role involves pipe cutting, joining, fitting, testing, and troubleshooting while ensuring proper installation, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and understand plumbing drawings, layouts, measurements, and work instructions
• Install and assemble water supply, drainage, and plumbing pipelines
• Cut, thread, bend, and join pipes as required
• Install and connect pipes, valves, fittings, taps, sanitary fixtures, and other plumbing components
• Carry out pipe fitting, alignment, and proper jointing of plumbing systems
• Work with different types of pipes such as PVC, CPVC, UPVC, GI, PPR, and other commonly used plumbing materials
• Install and connect wash basins, toilets, sinks, showers, water tanks, and other sanitary fixtures
• Perform pressure testing and leak testing of pipelines and plumbing systems
• Identify and repair leakage, blockage, damaged joints, and other plumbing issues
• Operate plumbing tools and equipment such as pipe wrenches, spanners, pipe cutters, threading machines, drills, grinders, and other related tools safely
• Assist in installation and maintenance of pumps, valves, water tanks, and basic plumbing equipment
• Ensure proper slope and alignment for drainage and wastewater pipelines
• Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of plumbing systems
• Coordinate with electricians, fitters, welders, supervisors, and other site/workshop personnel as required
• Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness at the work area
• Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and site/workshop rules
• Report material requirements, equipment issues, leakages, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor

Additional Requirements

• Candidate should have practical experience in plumbing installation and maintenance
• Should be able to independently handle basic plumbing works and troubleshooting
• Should be familiar with common plumbing tools, fittings, valves, and materials
• Willingness to work on a shift basis is required
• Food will be provided by the company
• Should be physically fit and willing to work in a workshop/site environment
• Should be willing to work at height or in confined areas whenever required, following appropriate safety procedures
