Job Description

Manifest Hospitality is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Commis 3 Chef to join the kitchen team at our Italian restaurant in Colaba, Mumbai.

This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring chefs who want to build their culinary careers and learn the fundamentals of Italian cuisine in a professional restaurant environment. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn, disciplined, and committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and kitchen hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior chefs with basic food preparation and daily kitchen operations.
• Perform mise en place, including washing, peeling, cutting, and preparing vegetables and other ingredients.
• Assist in preparing ingredients for pasta, sauces, pizza, salads, and other Italian dishes.
• Follow recipes, instructions, and portioning guidelines provided by senior chefs.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the assigned kitchen section.
• Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of food items.
• Follow food safety standards and kitchen hygiene procedures.
• Keep kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment clean and organised.
• Assist with receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies.
• Minimise food wastage and use ingredients responsibly.
• Support Commis 1, Commis 2, Chef de Partie, and senior chefs during service.
• Learn new cooking techniques and continuously improve culinary skills.

Requirements

• Freshers or candidates with up to 1 year of kitchen experience may apply.
• A genuine interest in cooking and Italian cuisine.
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn professional cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
• Good discipline, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
