Production Supervisor

Role \& responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily production activities in the centrifugal pump manufacturing unit.
• Plan and monitor production as per daily/weekly schedules and ensure timely achievement of targets.
• Supervise machining, fabrication, pump assembly, testing and finishing activities.
• Handle shop-floor operations involving CNC, VMC, Lathe, Drilling and Grinding machines.
• Allocate manpower to machines and production activities as per workload.
• Supervise Machine Operators, Helpers, Fitters and production staff.
• Monitor production output, rejection, rework, machine utilization and downtime.
• Ensure pump components are manufactured as per approved drawings, dimensions and specifications.
• Coordinate with Planning, Stores, Purchase, Quality, Maintenance and Assembly departments.
• Monitor manufacturing of pump components such as Casing, Impeller, Shaft, Bearing Housing/Bracket, Base Plate, Coupling and Mechanical Seal Components.
• Handle engineering materials such as Cast Iron, Cast Steel, MS, SS304 and SS316.
• Read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with Quality for in-process inspection and final quality requirements.
• Maintain daily production reports, manpower records and machine-wise production records.
• Ensure proper 5S, housekeeping, safety and discipline on the shop floor.
• Identify production issues and coordinate with concerned departments for corrective action.
• Improve productivity, reduce rejection/rework and optimize manpower and machine utilization.
• Report daily production status and pending activities to management.

Preferred candidate profile

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering preferred.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in Production / Manufacturing.
• Experience in Centrifugal Pump, Industrial Pump, Engineering, Heavy Engineering, Rotating Equipment or Machine Shop will be preferred.
• Good knowledge of pump manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Practical knowledge of CNC, VMC, Lathe, Drilling and Grinding operations.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Good knowledge of machining processes and measuring instruments.
• Strong manpower handling and team management skills.
• Good coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of MS Excel and production reporting will be an advantage.
• Immediate joiners preferred.
