About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Bakery Chef specialising in artisan breads to join our team.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in sourdough, focaccia, baguettes and other European/artisan breads, with a strong understanding of fermentation, dough handling and baking techniques.

5-star hotel kitchen experience is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and bake sourdough breads, focaccia, baguettes and other artisan breads.

Handle sourdough starters, preferments and long fermentation processes.

Maintain consistency in dough mixing, hydration, fermentation, shaping, proofing and baking.

Monitor dough temperature, fermentation time and proofing conditions.

Develop and maintain consistent recipes and production standards.

Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients and finished products.

Maintain high standards of food hygiene, sanitation and kitchen safety.

Operate and maintain bakery equipment including mixers, ovens, proofers and other baking equipment.

Follow production schedules and ensure timely completion of daily requirements.

Maintain consistency in taste, texture, appearance and product quality.

Minimise wastage and ensure efficient use of raw materials.

Maintain proper cleaning and hygiene standards within the bakery production area.

Work closely with the production and quality teams to maintain product standards.

Assist in developing and testing new artisan bread products.

Skills & Experience Required

1–3 years of professional bakery experience.

5-star hotel kitchen experience is mandatory.

Strong hands-on experience with sourdough and artisan breads.

Baguette

Ciabatta

Multigrain / specialty breads

Other European-style breads

Good understanding of fermentation and dough development.

Strong knowledge of bakery hygiene and food safety practices.

Ability to work with precision and maintain consistent product quality.

Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Good teamwork and communication skills.

Willingness to learn, experiment, and develop new products.
