Chinese Cook

Responsibilities

Prepare Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, fried rice, noodles, sauces, and appetisers, according to the chef’s recipes.

Handle the wok confidently and maintain correct cooking temperatures, timing, and texture.

Complete daily mise en place, including cutting vegetables, portioning proteins, and preparing sauces and marinades.

Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.

Deliver consistent quality for dine-in and delivery orders.

Handle meat, seafood, vegetables, and allergens safely, preventing cross-contamination.

Check ingredient freshness, label and rotate stock, and minimise wastage.

Maintain cleanliness of the cooking section, equipment, and work surfaces.

Communicate stock shortages and preparation requirements to the chef.

Coordinate with the kitchen team during busy service periods.
