Bookkeeper

Baby\&Me is hiring an Accountant to keep our books accurate, our taxes on time and our cash flow clear. You will handle day-to-day accounting for our online store, marketplace and offline sales, and work closely with our external CA.

• Experience: 2–5 years in accounting, ideally in retail, e-commerce or D2C
• Reports to: Founder / Finance Head

Key responsibilities

Bookkeeping

• Record all sales, purchases, expenses, receipts and payments in Tally / Zoho Books
• Reconcile bank accounts, payment gateways (Razorpay, PayU etc.) and COD remittances
• Reconcile marketplace settlements (Amazon, Flipkart, FirstCry) including commissions, returns and fees

GST and tax compliance

• Prepare and file GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and annual returns; reconcile input tax credit with GSTR-2B
• Calculate and deposit TDS; file quarterly TDS returns and issue Form 16A
• Handle e-invoicing and e-way bills where applicable
• Coordinate with the CA for income tax, advance tax and statutory audit

Payables and receivables

• Process vendor bills and payments on time; maintain vendor ledgers
• Track receivables from distributors, retailers and B2B customers
• Manage petty cash and employee expense claims

Inventory and costing

• Reconcile stock between warehouse, accounts and sales channels
• Track landed cost and product-level margins

Payroll and statutory

• Process monthly payroll with PF, ESI and Professional Tax compliance

Reporting

• Prepare monthly P\&L, balance sheet and cash-flow statements
• Share a weekly cash position and support budgets and forecasts
• Keep records audit-ready at all times

What we're looking for

Must have

• B.Com / M.Com (CA Inter or CMA Inter is a plus)
• 2–5 years of hands-on accounting experience
• Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS and Indian accounting basics
• Proficiency in Tally Prime or Zoho Books, and Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
• Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to meet filing deadlines

Good to have

• Experience with e-commerce or marketplace reconciliations
• Inventory accounting in a product business
• Comfort working in a fast-moving startup

Pay

₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
