Housekeeping Supervisor

Full job description

• Supervise housekeeping staff and allocate daily duties as per operational requirements.
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of patient rooms, wards, ICU areas, OT, OPD, corridors, washrooms, waiting areas, and other hospital premises.
• Monitor housekeeping activities and ensure cleaning schedules are followed properly.
• Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, PPE, and housekeeping materials.
• Follow and implement hospital infection-control and biomedical waste segregation guidelines.
• Ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste as per hospital procedures.
• Conduct regular rounds and identify areas requiring corrective action.
• Maintain housekeeping checklists, duty rosters, cleaning records, and inspection reports.
• Coordinate with Nursing, Infection Control, Engineering, Security, and other departments for housekeeping-related requirements.
• Train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, hygiene, grooming, PPE usage, and infection-control practices.
• Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, discipline, and performance.
• Handle patient/attendant complaints related to cleanliness and ensure timely resolution.
• Monitor consumption and stock availability of housekeeping materials and chemicals.
• Report shortages, damages, incidents, and operational issues to the reporting manager.
• Ensure proper handling and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.
• Support hospital audits, inspections, and quality/accreditation requirements.
• Ensure housekeeping staff follow hospital policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
