Job Description – Phlebotomy / Sample Collection Executive

Key Responsibilities

Maintain adequate stock of blood collection tubes (Plain, EDTA, Fluoride, Citrate), cotton, bandages, micropore tape, urine containers, syringes, needles, stickers, IPA, and other required consumables.

Ensure proper labeling of samples with legible handwriting or barcode identification, and dispatch them to the respective departments for processing.

Maintain primary sample records in the Sample Register and communicate special instructions to the Doctor or Section Head (SH).

Promptly report phlebotomy-related issues, including patient complaints and repeat sample collection, to the Laboratory In-charge (LI) or Team Manager (TM).

Register patient complaints and communicate them to the Section Head and Reception team.

Handle non-conformities and coordinate with management to implement corrective and preventive actions.

Respond promptly to issues related to clotted, repeated, or missing samples.

Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).

Maintain a professional, patient-friendly, and supportive working environment.

Coordinate effectively with all departments to ensure smooth operations.

Perform any other duties assigned by the higher authority.
