About the Role
Urban Roof Private Limited is looking for motivated Civil Engineering candidates to join its field inspection operations associated with FoxScan.
FoxScan specialises in building diagnostics and property inspections, helping homeowners understand issues related to seepage, dampness, leakage, cracks and other building or structural concerns. The inspection process involves collecting site data, taking photographs and measurements, using diagnostic equipment such as thermal imaging tools where required, and preparing evidence-based reports.
We welcome freshers and interns who want practical exposure to building inspections and civil engineering applications, as well as candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience.
This is a field-based inspection role, not a conventional construction-site supervision or repair-execution job.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct approximately 3–4 property/site visits per day, depending on assigned locations and schedules.
Visit residential and commercial properties to conduct assigned building and civil inspections.
Understand the property owner's complaint and inspect the relevant areas.
Observe and document building-related issues, including leakage, seepage, dampness, cracks, plaster damage and visible concrete deterioration.
Inspect relevant building components such as walls, ceilings, terraces, balconies and other areas according to the inspection requirements.
Take clear photographs, measurements and detailed site observations.
Carry out or assist with thermographic inspections using thermal imaging equipment, as required.
Collect accurate site data and supporting evidence for technical assessment.
Prepare daily site inspection reports and thermographic reports where required.
Maintain proper digital records of photographs, measurements, observations and inspection details.
Coordinate professionally with property owners and occupants during site visits.
Update the Regional Reporting Manager on completed visits, findings, pending reports and site-related issues.
Coordinate with the internal technical and reporting teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of inspection information.
Escalate complex or potentially serious technical observations to senior engineers for further assessment.
Follow company inspection protocols, safety practices, reporting standards and documentation procedures.
Complete assigned inspections and reports within the required timelines.
Responsibilities – Internship Position
Interns will receive practical exposure to field inspections and building diagnostics under appropriate supervision and guidance.
Assist senior engineers with residential and commercial property inspections.
Learn how to observe and document building conditions and common civil defects.
Assist with taking photographs, measurements and site notes.
Learn to use thermal imaging and other diagnostic tools where applicable.
Help organise inspection data, photographs and supporting evidence.
Assist in preparing site inspection reports and maintaining digital records.
Accompany or support experienced engineers during assigned site visits as required.
Learn company inspection procedures, safety practices and reporting formats.
Coordinate with the reporting team and complete assigned tasks within timelines.
Gradually develop the skills required to handle inspections and reporting responsibilities independently.
Interns are expected to be punctual, attentive, willing to learn and comfortable with regular field travel. Previous inspection or thermal imaging experience is not compulsory.
Responsibilities – Full-Time Site Engineer
Full-time Site Engineers will be responsible for managing assigned field inspections and ensuring accurate collection and submission of site information.
Plan and complete assigned site visits efficiently.
Conduct systematic inspections of relevant building components.
Collect complete photographs, measurements, observations and diagnostic data.
Operate inspection equipment after the necessary training and according to company procedures.
Prepare accurate inspection and thermographic reports as applicable.
Maintain daily inspection records and meet reporting deadlines.
Communicate professionally with property owners and occupants.
Keep the Regional Reporting Manager updated on site progress and reporting status.
Coordinate with senior engineers and the technical team for review of findings.
Identify observations requiring further technical assessment and escalate them appropriately.
Maintain accuracy, consistency and quality across all assigned inspections.
Full-time engineers are expected to take increasing ownership of site visits, documentation, time management and reporting after completing the necessary training.
Candidate Requirements
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering, or currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
