CNC & VMC PROGRAMMER CUM OPERATOR

Job Summary

• Requires the Knowledge of computer numerically controlled or CNC programs to be used for automating machinists.

• Creates instructions for machinists.

• Reviews 3D CAD design blueprints.

• Makes calculations for programming including where materials should be cut.

• Translates instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.

• Checks completed programs by running simulations or tests.

• Prepares geometric layout of designs using proper software.

• Determines sequence of operations in a program.

• Chooses cutting tools that will be needed.

• Write low level complexity CNC milling and turning programs that execute successfully, efficiently and safely.

• Read code in programs and make alterations to existing programs.

• Explain why any line of code that the Programmer has written is necessary and what would happen if it is eliminated.

• Analyzes and selects speeds and cutting tools for programs.

• Makes improvements to set up times for a task and contouring of complex shapes.

• Analyze the behavior of code to diagnose a problem and find the underlying cause.

Qualifications and Skills

• ) Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

• ) Auto Cad , Pro -E

• ) Knowledge of CNC Programming
