Job Description – Phlebotomy / Sample Collection Executive

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain adequate stock of blood collection tubes (Plain, EDTA, Fluoride, Citrate), cotton, bandages, micropore tape, urine containers, syringes, needles, stickers, IPA, and other required consumables.
• Ensure proper labeling of samples with legible handwriting or barcode identification, and dispatch them to the respective departments for processing.
• Maintain primary sample records in the Sample Register and communicate special instructions to the Doctor or Section Head (SH).
• Promptly report phlebotomy-related issues, including patient complaints and repeat sample collection, to the Laboratory In-charge (LI) or Team Manager (TM).
• Register patient complaints and communicate them to the Section Head and Reception team.
• Handle non-conformities and coordinate with management to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Respond promptly to issues related to clotted, repeated, or missing samples.
• Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Maintain a professional, patient-friendly, and supportive working environment.
• Coordinate effectively with all departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the higher authority.
