Operation Theatre Technician

Al-Azhar Medical College & Super Speciality Hospital, Thodupuzha, is seeking an experienced and skilled Operation Theatre Technician to assist in surgical procedures, maintain a sterile environment, and ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the Operation Theatre.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare the Operation Theatre before surgical procedures.

Assist surgeons, anaesthesiologists, and nursing staff during surgeries.

Ensure the proper sterilisation and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment.

Maintain aseptic techniques and strict infection control practices.

Monitor the availability and functionality of OT equipment and surgical supplies.

Assist with patient positioning and transfer before and after surgical procedures.

Maintain OT cleanliness, safety, and readiness for scheduled and emergency surgeries.

Follow hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection prevention guidelines.

Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, sterilisation, and OT activities.

Qualifications

Diploma or B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or an equivalent recognised qualification.

Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in a hospital setting.

Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilisation techniques, and infection control practices.

Good communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
