WE ARE HIRING!Continental Chef – Commis 1 Sicilia’s All Day Kitchen & Café | Salunke Vihar, Pune Sicilia’s All Day Kitchen & Café is looking for a passionate and skilled Continental Chef (Commis 1) to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of Continental and Italian cuisine, a passion for food, and the ability to maintain high standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene. Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and execute Continental and Italian dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards. Handle daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, food preparation, and service. Prepare dishes such as pastas, pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads, breakfast items, and other Continental preparations. Maintain consistency in taste, portion sizes, plating, and food quality. Ensure proper food storage, stock rotation, and FIFO practices. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and follow food safety and hygiene standards. Monitor ingredient usage and minimise food wastage. Coordinate with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service. Assist with menu development, daily specials, and new dish trials. Ensure all kitchen equipment and workstations are maintained properly. RequirementsPrevious experience as a Commis 1 or in a similar Continental kitchen role. Good knowledge of Continental and Italian cuisine. Basic understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café or restaurant environment. Good teamwork, discipline, and time-management skills. Willingness to learn, take responsibility, and maintain consistent standards. Candidates with experience in cafés, bistros, or casual dining restaurants will be preferred.
