Purchase & Store Officer

• Shall keep a ready record of the items which are highly consumable. Assess the frequency of consumption.

• Shall keep adequate stock to meet hospital requirements.

• Shall ensure that articles, equipment and other items are not in excess to the quantity laid down.

• Shall maintain the list of articles in the store in a book and ensure it is updated periodically (Stock Register).

• Shall report to Hospital Administration about quality of supplies.

• Shall ensure the quantity is correctly supplied.

• Shall make all issues only on approval of Hospital Administration.

• Shall make issues against store requisition.

• Shall keep requisition items ready for delivery.

• Shall ensure counting of the items issued. So far as it is practicable, shall fix up specific timing and days for issue to different departments and sections.

• Shall issue emergency supply at even odd times of the day.

• Shall try to make a balance between supplies and issue.

• Shall develop new systems and bring up new ideas to organize issues and supplies.

• Shall replace the exchangeable items on production of empty can, box etc.

• Shall get the approval of all vouchers by Hospital Administration.

• Shall kept vouchers for a period determined by the Board.

• Shall enter entries in the books of accounts neatly; over cutting, over writing shall be avoided. Cuttings must be signed.
