VMC Machine Shop Production Head

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated VMC Machine Shop Production Head to lead our precision machining operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production within our VMC (Vertical Machining Center) shop, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of components. This role requires a strong leader with deep technical expertise in CNC machining, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily production activities in the VMC machine shop, ensuring adherence to production schedules and targets.
• Develop, implement, and monitor production plans, schedules, and workflows to optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of VMC operators, programmers, and technicians, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
• Ensure all machined parts meet specified quality standards and tolerances through rigorous inspection and quality control processes.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to resolve technical issues, implement design changes, and improve manufacturing processes.
• Manage machine maintenance schedules, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure optimal machine uptime.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures within the machine shop to maintain a safe working environment.
• Monitor and analyze production data, identify areas for improvement, and implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Manage inventory of raw materials, tools, and consumables required for VMC operations, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Prepare regular production reports, detailing performance metrics, challenges, and proposed solutions to senior management.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in VMC technology, tooling, and machining techniques.
