Lab Technician

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Shall report to Manager – Laboratory/Blood Bank Officer.
• Shall conduct chemical analysis of urine and blood, using automatic or microscope analyzer to detect diseases or abnormalities.
• Shall adjust, set up, maintain and clean medical laboratory equipment.
• Shall analyze the results of experiments and tests to ensure consistency to specifications, using electrical and mechanical devices.
• Shall analyze and record test information to issue lab reports that use graphs, charts, and narratives.
• Shall perform medical research to cure and control disease, conduct blood tests for blood transfusion purposes, and perform blood counts.
• Shall obtain specimens, isolate, cultivate and identify microbes for analysis and examine cells stained with color to locate abnormalities.
• Shall prepare standard volumetric reagents and solutions to combine with samples, following experimental procedures or standardized formulas.
• Shall prepare serums and vaccines by standard laboratory techniques, testing for virus sterility and inactivity.
• Shall test processes, finished products, and raw materials to determine quantity and quality of characteristics or materials of a substance.
• Shall conduct accurately various complex and simple analytical tests on various samples.
• Shall recognize erroneous outcomes, report them immediately, and ensure all sampling methodologies or processes are well controlled and documented.
