Maintenance Electrician

• Inspection and Preventive Maintenance
• Routinely check electrical panels, wiring, conduits, circuit breakers, and lighting systems.
• Inspect generators, transformers, motors, and emergency power circuits.
• Perform scheduled checks to prevent unexpected system shutdowns. \[1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]
• Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
• Use testing equipment like multimeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes to locate short circuits, ground faults, and voltage drops.
• Diagnose malfunctions in control panels, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and machinery.
• Identify root causes of power failures or equipment overheating and execute rapid repairs. \[1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
• Repairs and Replacements
• Fix or replace damaged switches, receptacles, wiring, fuses, relays, and lighting fixtures.
• Overhaul or swap out worn industrial motors, contactors, and distribution panels.

• Installations and Modifications
• Install new electrical circuits, wiring, conduits, and equipment additions as facilities expand or change.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical wiring diagrams. \[1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
• Safety and Compliance
• Adhere strictly to local electrical codes, safety regulations, and guidelines (such as OSHA or lock-out/tag-out procedures).
• Maintain safe grounding, proper load balancing, and insulation standards. \[1, 2, 3, 4]
• Documentation and Record-Keeping
• Keep detailed logs of shift activities, maintenance schedules, and parts replacements.
• Report low stock on fast-moving electrical spare parts to the maintenance supervisor. \[1, 2, 3]
