Store Manager

Stores \& Procurement \|Reports to:Plant Head / General Manager

Role summary: Owns all store operations for the mining and plant processing site, including inventory control, procurement support, and the store team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage receipt, storage, issue, and dispatch of spares, consumables, PPE, lubricants, and tools

• Maintain accurate stock in the ERP, with timely GRN, issue slips, and stock adjustments

• Set and monitor min/max, reorder levels, and ABC/FSN analysis

• Raise purchase requisitions, obtain quotations, compare vendors, and coordinate with the purchase team on POs, delivery, and follow-ups

• Verify incoming material against PO, quantity, and quality; handle rejections and vendor returns

• Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies

• Prepare MIS reports in Excel: stock statements, consumption trends, aging, and slow-moving/obsolete items

• Control store costs and minimize breakdown risk from stock-outs

• Supervise and train store clerks and assign daily tasks

• Enforce safe storage, housekeeping, and safety norms, and maintain documentation for audits

Requirements

• Graduate/Diploma (Commerce, Science, or Engineering); 6–10 years in stores/materials, preferably in mining, cement, or heavy industry, including 2+ years in a supervisory role

• Advanced MS Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, data cleaning)

• Hands-on ERP experience in inventory and procurement modules

• Knowledge of procurement cycle, GST basics, and stores documentation

Skills: Accuracy, accountability, vendor coordination, basic English and Hindi communication, willingness to work at a plant/mine site.

Working conditions

Full-time, on-site, with occasional extended hours during dispatch or stock audits.
