Staff Nurse, GNM

A Staff Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients, assisting doctors during treatment, administering medications, and monitoring patients’ health and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients according to their medical needs.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the doctor.
• Assist doctors during medical procedures and examinations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and nursing documentation.
• Ensure proper hygiene, comfort, and safety of patients.
• Follow infection control procedures and maintain cleanliness in the ward.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment, medication, and post-discharge care.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid when required.
• Coordinate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.

Qualifications and Skills

• GNM or B.Sc. Nursing qualification from a recognized institution.
• Valid nursing registration with the relevant State Nursing Council.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of nursing procedures, patient care, and infection control.
• Ability to work in shifts, including night duties.
• Compassion, patience, responsibility, and teamwork.
