Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Passive Network Technician / Engineer with hands-on experience in Data Centre projects and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs). The candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation of passive network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity and smooth operations at Data Centre sites.

Key Responsibilities

Install, terminate, test, and maintain structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber-optic cables.

Handle installation and maintenance of CAT6/CAT6A cabling, patch panels, I/O outlets, racks, and cable management systems.

Perform fiber-optic cable splicing, termination, testing, and fault identification using appropriate tools and equipment.

Conduct cable testing, continuity checks, labeling, and certification using relevant testing equipment.

Maintain and troubleshoot passive network infrastructure at Data Centre facilities and AMC sites.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as per the approved maintenance schedule.

Identify and rectify cable faults, connectivity issues, and physical infrastructure defects.

Assist in rack installation, patching, cable dressing, and structured cabling implementation.

Coordinate with Data Centre operations, IT, BMS, and other technical teams during installation and maintenance activities.

Prepare daily work reports, maintenance checklists, testing reports, and fault-resolution records.

Follow Data Centre safety procedures, access protocols, SOPs, and client-specific guidelines.

Support site inspections, audits, project execution, and emergency maintenance activities as required.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification - Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / IT / Telecommunications or a relevant technical discipline

Experience - Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience

Industry Experience - Data Centre projects, structured cabling, and AMC operations

Technical Skills - Copper and fiber cabling, termination, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance

Equipment Knowledge - Cable testers, fiber-optic testing tools, and related installation equipment

Documentation - Maintenance reports, testing records, checklists, and site documentation

Required Skills

Strong practical knowledge of passive network infrastructure and structured cabling.

Experience working in operational Data Centre environments.

Ability to troubleshoot network cabling and physical connectivity issues.

Knowledge of fiber-optic and copper cabling standards and best practices.

Good coordination, communication, and reporting skills.

Ability to work independently at project sites and under AMC service requirements.

Willingness to work at client locations and support planned or emergency maintenance activities.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with hands-on experience in Data Centre infrastructure installation, operation and maintenance, fiber-optic cabling, structured networking, and government or enterprise Data Centre projects will be preferred.
