Anganwadi workers run village and ward centres under the ICDS scheme: nutrition for children and pregnant women, pre-school, health tracking. It is an honorarium post for local women, not a regular government job. Selection is local, by the Child Development Project Office.

Set by each state; many states now need 12th pass for worker. Check the official notice

How to prepare

  • Keep residence proof of the exact village/ward ready.
  • Higher qualifications and certificates (e.g. MS-CIT) can add marks in Maharashtra. Check the official notice
  • Check the notice board at the project office weekly; ads are local and short.
  • Submit the form by hand and take a receipt.

Mistakes people make

  • Applying outside your own village/ward.
  • Missing the objection window on the merit list.
  • Paying agents; there is no fee-based selection.
