This is an ideal position for fresh graduates or junior scientists looking to build a strong career in pharmaceutical quality testing and process chemistry.
Key Responsibilities
Chromatographic Analysis: Perform Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) to monitor reaction progress, check raw material purity, identify unknown compounds, and analyze final drug intermediates/APIs.
Sample & Reagent Preparation: Prepare mobile phases, reagents, standard solutions, and sample solutions accurately following established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Derivatization & Detection: Apply appropriate visualization methods (UV detection, iodine staining, chemical sprays, heat treatment) to observe and record chromatographic results.
Data Documentation: Calculate $R_f$ (Retention Factor) values, document experimental observations, write lab notebook entries, and prepare analytical reports in compliance with cGMP/GLP standards.
Routine Analytical Testing: Conduct standard wet lab tests (e.g., pH measurement, loss on drying, titrations, melting point determinations) alongside TLC tasks.
- Instrument Maintenance
- Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and maintain inventory for silica plates, solvents, and reagents.
