Junior Accountant
Junior Accountants are entry-level financial professionals who support senior staff in managing daily accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and maintaining compliance with regulations. They typically hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and work under supervision to compile reports, manage ledgers, and assist with audits.
Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments, and performing bank and account reconciliations. They also prepare financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements, support month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and tax laws.
Essential qualifications include proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Tally) and Microsoft Excel, along with strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills. While a CPA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification is often preferred or advantageous, it is not always required for entry-level positions, though relevant internship or work experience is highly valued.
