Billing Executive
Job Summary
The Billing Executive is responsible for preparing and processing patient bills, verifying billing details, collecting payments, and ensuring accurate billing documentation. The role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure timely and accurate billing in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Prepare and process accurate patient bills for inpatient and outpatient services.
Verify patient details, consultation charges, procedure charges, and other service-related charges.
Generate invoices and bills using the hospital billing software.
Coordinate with the Insurance and TPA departments for billing-related queries and clarifications.
Handle cash, card, UPI, and other payment transactions as per hospital procedures.
Ensure accurate billing entries and maintain proper billing records.
Verify discounts, concessions, and approvals as per hospital policies.
Coordinate with nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, and other departments to ensure accurate charge capture.
Resolve patient billing queries and provide clear explanations of charges.
Maintain daily billing reports and submit them to the concerned department.
Ensure compliance with hospital billing policies and financial procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and financial records.
Educational Qualification
Any Degree / B.Com / BBA from a recognized institution.
Knowledge of hospital billing procedures is preferred.
Experience
0–2 years of experience in hospital billing or a related field.
Freshers may also be considered.
Experience in a multispeciality hospital is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of hospital billing procedures and invoice processing.
Basic knowledge of MS Excel and computer applications.
Familiarity with hospital billing software and HIS systems.
Good numerical and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to handle patient queries professionally.
Time management and teamwork skills.
Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information.
Working Conditions
Full-time hospital-based position.
Rotational shifts as per hospital requirements.
Must adhere to hospital policies, billing procedures, and confidentiality standards.
Requires coordination with multiple departments and direct interaction with patients.
