Job Summary

The Gynaecology Counsellor is responsible for counselling patients and their attendants regarding consultations, investigations, treatment procedures, surgeries, packages, and follow-up care. The counsellor should provide clear and accurate information while maintaining empathy, confidentiality, and professional behaviour.

Key Responsibilities

Counsel patients and attendants regarding recommended treatment and procedures.

Explain investigations, procedures, surgery processes, estimated costs, and hospital protocols.

Assist patients in understanding pre-operative and post-operative instructions.

Follow up with patients regarding appointments, investigations, procedures, and treatment plans.

Coordinate admissions and discharge-related counselling where required.

Achieve assigned counselling and conversion targets, wherever applicable.

Required Skills

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Good understanding of basic gynaecology procedures and terminology.

Ability to explain medical information in simple language.

Good convincing and counselling skills.

Strong coordination and follow-up skills.

Basic computer and documentation skills.

Ability to handle difficult patients and attendants professionally.

Qualification & Experience

Qualification

Graduate in any discipline; healthcare/medical background preferred.

Experience: 1–3 years of experience in hospital counselling, gynaecology, healthcare, patient relations, or a similar role preferred.
