Job Description

Shafeltech is hiring an experienced Lathe Machine Operator (Non-CNC) to handle precision machining jobs on conventional/manual lathe machines. The role requires strong hands-on skills in turning operations and the ability to produce accurate components as per engineering drawings

Key Responsibilities

• Operate manual/conventional lathe machines for precision turning operations.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, job sheets, and measurements.

• Perform operations such as facing, turning, threading, and taper turning, boring, drilling, grooving, chamfering, and parting.

• Maintain tight tolerances and dimensional accuracy in finished parts.

• Select and set cutting tools, tool holders, chucks, fixtures, and feeds/speeds.

• Inspect components using vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, dial gauges, etc.

• Perform basic machine maintenance, lubrication, and tool sharpening.

• Maintain production records and job cards.

• Follow all safety practices and maintain a clean workspace.

Skills \& Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Turner / Machinist / Mechanical or equivalent.

• 4 – 10 years of experience in manual lathe machining (Non-CNC).

• Strong understanding of precision machining and measurement instruments.

• Ability to produce consistent quality output with minimal supervision.

• Knowledge of different materials (MS, SS, Brass, Aluminium, etc.) and machining behavior.
