Lab Assistant / Sample Processing Assistant

Key Responsibilities

Receive and handle specimens as per defined SOPs.

Assist in sample processing according to established procedures.

Store samples appropriately to maintain sample integrity.

Arrange and label samples for easy identification and traceability.

Dispose of expired or old samples as per SOPs.

Maintain and file departmental documents and records.

Read and follow laboratory manuals and SOPs.

Communicate critical values to the Section Head or Pathologist.

Follow departmental safety guidelines and laboratory protocols.

Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal.

Perform any other duties assigned by seniors.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and sample handling.

Attention to detail and good organizational skills.

Ability to follow SOPs and safety protocols.
