Job Summary

The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a welcoming, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for every guest. The role involves greeting customers, taking orders, serving food and beverages, handling billing, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the café.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service.

Assist customers with menu selections and provide information about food, beverages, and daily specials.

Take customer orders accurately and communicate them to the kitchen or barista team.

Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining presentation and service standards.

Handle billing, cash payments, card transactions, and digital payments accurately.

Respond to customer queries, feedback, and complaints professionally.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in dining areas, tables, counters, and service stations.

Coordinate with kitchen staff, baristas, and other team members to ensure efficient service.

Monitor table availability and assist with seating and guest flow during busy periods.

Follow food safety, hygiene, and café operating procedures.

Assist with opening and closing duties, restocking supplies, and maintaining inventory where required.

Promote menu items and special offers to enhance the guest experience.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum qualification

10+2 or equivalent; hospitality training is an advantage.

Previous experience in a café, restaurant, hotel, or customer service role is preferred.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Pleasant personality with a customer-focused attitude.

Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) billing skills.

Strong teamwork, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

Professional appearance and a positive attitude.

Working Conditions

Must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.

Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Ability to work efficiently during peak business hours.
