Backend & API Integration Engineer (Webhooks & Cloud)

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Backend & API Integration Engineer to connect our internal systems with external platforms, focusing heavily on third-party APIs, real-time webhooks, and cloud backend stability.

While our application development workflows leverage modern AI-assisted engineering tools, this role is critical for orchestrating bulletproof system-to-system connections, managing high-throughput webhook pipelines (Meta/WhatsApp Business API), ensuring data integrity, and maintaining secure cloud deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Third-Party API & Webhook Integration: Design, implement, and maintain robust integrations with Meta Graph API, WhatsApp Cloud API, payment gateways, and third-party SaaS services.

Webhook Reliability Architecture: Build fault-tolerant webhook endpoints capable of handling sudden payload spikes, ensuring immediate acknowledgment (HTTP 200) and preventing delivery timeouts.

Asynchronous Queue Management: Implement background message processing and retry mechanisms using queues (e.g., Redis, BullMQ, or RabbitMQ) to guarantee zero message loss and handle duplicates (Idempotency).

Security & Authentication: Secure endpoints using HMAC SHA-256 signature verification, secure token storage, environment variable hygiene, and proper rate-limiting protocols.

Cloud & Server Infrastructure

Deploy, monitor, and scale backend services across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Render, or Vercel) with reliable uptime.

Code Review & Production Debugging: Review, test, and debug backend logic and database workflows to ensure production-grade performance.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

Backend Development

2+ years of hands-on experience building production backends using Node.js (Express/Fastify) or Python (FastAPI/Django).

API Expertise

Deep technical understanding of RESTful architecture, HTTP status codes, webhooks, rate limiting, and payload validation.

Direct Meta/WhatsApp API Experience: Proven track record of configuring and maintaining Meta WhatsApp Business Cloud API / Webhook endpoints.

Databases

Solid working knowledge of MongoDB or PostgreSQL for schema design, indexing, and query optimization.

Message Brokers / Queues

Practical experience with Redis or RabbitMQ for handling asynchronous background jobs.

DevOps Basics

Familiarity with environment configuration, SSL, server logging, and basic CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience integrating payment gateways (e.g., Razorpay, Stripe).

Familiarity with uptime monitoring and error-tracking tools like Sentry, Better Stack, or Datadog.

Comfort working with AI development tools to accelerate delivery while strictly enforcing code quality and security standards.
