Job Summary

Masaco Global is looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and student-oriented Overseas Education Counsellor to join our team in Kochi.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of international education systems, overseas study opportunities, university admission procedures, and student visa processes. The candidate must be capable of understanding students' academic backgrounds, career aspirations, and financial preferences and guiding them towards suitable study-abroad destinations, universities, and courses.

We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in the overseas education industry, has good communication and interpersonal skills, and can confidently guide students and parents throughout their study-abroad journey.

Candidates with prior experience in overseas education counselling or good knowledge of international education destinations will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Counsel students and parents regarding higher education opportunities in international destinations.

Possess good knowledge of popular study-abroad destinations such as the UK, Canada, Australia, USA, New Zealand, Ireland, Germany, France, and other European countries.

Understand students' academic qualifications, English language proficiency, career interests, financial backgrounds, and future goals.

Recommend suitable countries, universities, colleges, courses, and academic pathways based on individual student profiles.

Have a clear understanding of different international education systems, university admission criteria, eligibility requirements, and academic intakes.

Guide students regarding IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, Duolingo, and other English language proficiency requirements, including available exemptions where applicable.

Explain tuition fees, living expenses, scholarships, course duration, admission requirements, and other study-related information.

Provide basic guidance on student visa requirements, financial documentation, proof of funds, and visa application procedures.

Handle student enquiries through telephone calls, WhatsApp, emails, walk-ins, and other communication channels.

Follow up with prospective students, maintain regular communication, and convert enquiries into successful student enrolments.

Assist students throughout the admission process, including university shortlisting, application procedures, offer letters, and admission documentation.

Coordinate with the admissions and visa documentation teams to ensure a smooth application process.

Maintain accurate records of student enquiries, counselling sessions, follow-ups, applications, and conversions.

Build strong relationships with students and parents by providing transparent, accurate, and professional guidance.

Stay updated on changes in international education policies, university admission requirements, tuition fees, scholarships, visa regulations, and immigration procedures.

Work towards individual and team counselling, application, and student enrolment targets.

Skills & Requirements

0–1 year of experience in overseas education counselling, study-abroad consultancy, education counselling, or a related field.

Candidates with a good understanding of international education and overseas university admission procedures are highly preferred.

Knowledge of popular study destinations, universities, courses, admission requirements, and student visa processes.

Basic understanding of IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, and other English language proficiency requirements.

Familiarity with university application procedures, academic eligibility, intakes, tuition fees, and scholarships.

Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong interpersonal, presentation, and student counselling skills.

Ability to analyse students' academic profiles and suggest appropriate overseas study options.

Good convincing, negotiation, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.

Ability to communicate professionally and confidently with students and parents.

Target-oriented, proactive, responsible, and willing to learn.

Basic computer knowledge, including MS Office, Google Workspace, email, and online application portals.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates who have worked in an overseas education consultancy or study-abroad agency will be given preference.

Candidates who have completed training or certification in overseas education counselling are welcome.

Freshers with strong knowledge of international education destinations and university admission procedures can also apply.

Candidates who are passionate about helping students achieve their international education goals are encouraged to apply.
