Commis Chef

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our world-class resort culinary team. In this role, you will assist our Station Chefs (Chefs de Partie) and Sous Chefs in preparing high-quality dishes for our diverse resort dining venues. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring culinary professional to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, chopping, and measuring components for various dishes.
• Station Support: Work accurately across assigned kitchen stations (e.g., appetizers, pastry, mains) as directed by the Chef de Partie.
• Quality Control: Maintain the high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste expected by our resort guests.
• Kitchen Hygiene: Keep the workspace, kitchen equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Inventory Management: Help monitor stock levels and properly rotate ingredients using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.

Qualifications \& Skills

• A degree/diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a Commis Chef or Line Cook (resort or hotel experience is a major plus).
• Basic understanding of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-volume environment.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
